VRML has limitless applications in the world of science. The first example is a site called "The Interactive Universe", which is one of the NASA websites. The site uses VRML to create planets and solar systems which can be viewed and studied in Virtual Reality. Very Cool!!! Check it out. Incidently, the rotating Earth at the top of this page is something I did a few years ago by using a NASA surface image of the earth, mapping it to a sphere and animating it.
Another example of VRML in science is a site called "Anti Aging Tech". This is a great website to check out if you want to live longer. They have gratiously donated this GIF animation of a Caffeine Molecule to you and I. This animation was created in VRML. Just right click on it, copy and save.
If you plug "vrml, science" into a search engine , it will list tons of websites with different applications for VRML.
